We're located in Northeastern Vermont, about 15 miles south of the border to Quebec. Just a two hour drive to Montreal, QE and a 3 1/2 hours drive to Boston, MA.

Hilltop Guest Policies

Located in the historic Foster's Grove area of the lake shore, Hilltop Housekeeping Cottages have been welcoming travelers and a loyal group of returning guests for over 60 years.  Here, in the tradition of New England lake cottages our facility allows you to venture into the woods, villages or water and return to your clean, cozy home-away-from home at the end of each day.

 

The free Westmore beach, with breathtaking views of Willoughby Gap is seven tenths of a mile from us.

 

A 30% non refundable deposit is required to reserve a cottage, with  the remaining balance due 15 days before arrival. The non-refundable portion of your deposit remains 30%.

 

If the cottage is arranged as you found it, with dishes washed, there is no cleaning fee."

 

A valid credit card must be presented at check-in regardless of payment type.  Advance Payment may be made by cash, check, money order or credit and debit card  (transaction fee applies for credit and debit card).  Please make checks payable to Barbara Rand

 

Cottages are fully equipped with kitchen utensils, paper goods, cleaning supplies bed linens and towels.

 

Octagon Lodge Rooms include bed linens, kitchen equipment, paper goods and cleaning supplies but are not provided with towels.  (towel packs can be ordered at $10 per person).

 

You are welcome to bring an outdoor grill.

 

We do not provide docking, kayaks, canoes or boats.  We do have parking for your boat trailer.  The public boat ramp is just down the road.

 

Cottage capacity is listed on the "Accommodations" page.  This number includes children and babies.

 

Our deep well water is potable and delicious and is tested regularly by the Vermont State Laboratory.

 

We do not allow pets.

 

We offer accommodations in a quiet natural setting which allows guests to connect with nature and each other.

 

Free  WIFI  and a radio/cd player are provided.  Cottages do not have televisions.  We have an assortment of games and puzzles which you are welcome to borrow.

 

Prices do not include 9% Vermont Room Tax.

 

No time for advance reservations?  Please contact us!  We often have last minute reservations available.  Reservations made less than 15 days before arrival and Octagon Lodge Rooms require prepayment.
